01 Feb Silkfred brand scouts visit the workspace

On 1^st February brand scouts from the women’s fashion online boutique Silk Fred visited the FC Designer Workspace to discuss how to sell on their fast growing platform, home to over 800 independent brands. 

Felicity, Clarissa and Orla delivered a fantastic and inspiring talk explaining who the Silk Fred customer is, how they support their brands and how to maximise selling on their platform. For many of the workspace designers and learners this is their first opportunity to sell their products on a third party platform. If they are approved and their brand is deemed a good fit Clarissa explained that the team at Silk Fred would support with the set up of their shop, offer advice on photographing their collection and how to optimise each item to make sure it gets seen by the audience.
Setting up their shop is really simple and once approved a brand can be selling within a few hours! Silk Fred offer around the clock customer service so this allows the brands to invest their time into other areas of their business. 
Key areas of advice included: 
Make sure you have the right product at the right price, timing is so important so ensure to launch products in line with seasonsHave an inventory of stock and know how many units you are launching with Start off small to gauge reaction React fast to demandHave a long term goal to go wholesale Be efficient at sending out orders and processing returns 
Analyse what sold and what didn’tImagery is so important but this doesn’t have to involve expensive photo shoots Age demographic is 25 to 55 
Following the talk Felicity, Clarissa and Orla spent time meeting each designer and reviewed their collections, offering advice and support.
