22 Apr Saturday Fashion Illustration Class Gains Excellent Feedback

On Saturday 19th April, FTA tutor and couture designer John Herrera led his first Saturday fashion illustration class at the FC Designer Workspace.

Participants at this well-attended class got to learn about the principles of fashion illustration, how to draw an anatomically correct woman and a stylised one, along with techniques for specific cuts, silhouettes, fabrics, prints and colours.

The feedback from the 1-day class was excellent, with many requesting more dates from John to develop their ideas and designs.

I liked the theory element and thinking about how cuts impact necklines and the thinking required. Would be great if there was day 2 of this course so we can practice adding clothes to our croquis. The teacher had set up the classroom in advance and started on time – demonstrating professionally.”
