22 May ReFAB Studio x FEL Workshop #7 Sustainable Sewing Skills Taught to Individuals From the YMCA
On 21st May, ReFAB Studio x Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) delivered the seventh session of its 12-part creative workshop series, welcoming 14 participants from the YMCA to the FC Designer Workspace in Islington, North London.

Focused on sustainability, creativity and practical skill-building, the workshop gave participants the opportunity to work with reclaimed luxury fabrics, transforming high-quality offcuts into beautiful and functional lifestyle products. Guided by experienced tutors throughout the session, attendees learned professional sewing techniques while creating their own handmade cushion covers to take home and use immediately.

The free workshop, supported by The Clothworkers’ Company, took place at the fully equipped FC Designer Workspace and provided an inspiring environment for hands-on learning and sustainable fashion practices.

The group thoroughly enjoyed the experience, with participants describing the day as fun, welcoming and educational. Many attendees were complete beginners and embraced the opportunity to develop practical sewing and construction skills in a supportive environment.

Feedback from participants included:
