30 May Monthly Masterclass: Sampling and Small Run Production

Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) provides free 1-hour masterclasses via Zoom once a month to support and encourage fashion students, brands, designers and businesses.

On 29th May, FEL’s Head of Technical Development, Claire Solley, presented ‘How to Manufacture Your Garments – Part 1 Sampling & Small Run Production.’ The session was joined by learners and residents at the FC Designer Workspace as well as 28 external attendees.

Claire, who is highly experienced in fashion production, gave essential insight into the production process from sampling 1 garment to grading sizes for a small collection. She went through a clear checklist when looking for a supplier, along with the various contractual agreements and procedures a fashion business needs to be aware of.

Attendee Isabelle gave the masterclass 10 out of 10 and said: “I have learnt about the sealing process and a general overview of how to manufacture your garments.”
