Modern Modesty Wear Brands to Launch at the FC Designer Workspace

On 23rd March from 10am – 1pm three brands will unite as they collectively launch three separate collections with a focus on ethical, modern modesty wear. The launch will take place at the FC Designer Workspace, where Majida Sayam, founder of Anaqa Apparel, Nabila founder of ENNAY Official and the three designers behind Shama – Afefat, Semira and Maria have all embarked on their first studio space to launch their businesses.

Majida is a force of nature as Director of the Women’s Social Society – Jannaty her work aims to empower women and girls from disadvantaged BAME groups. Majida has now launched a modesty clothing range which is handmade by the local sewing groups and features a fusion of global ethnic cultures which celebrates their diverse heritage.

ENNAY Official founder and designer Nabila has a mission to transform fashion for the Muslim community, especially Muslim teenagers who can find it difficult to connect to fashion trends. Nabila designs and makes trend led pieces with a focus on modest yet modern.

In addition the three ladies hailing from East Africa – Maria, Semira and Afefat are behind the hijab and modesty wear brand – Shama. Afefat commented: “We create modest clothing & hijabs suitable for our customers, made with love and quality fabrics. We love to cover up and look beautiful at the same time, allowing our customers to feel like a queen in our modest clothing. Our aim is to provide modest clothing lines that are affordable.”

The launch on 23rd March will provide an opportunity to meet the designers, hear their stories and watch sewing demonstrations on how their ideas come to life. The range of hijabs, modern dresses and kaftans will be available to buy in the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road from 24th March.
