Local MP’s Support HOPE-FX Launch on Fonthill Road

On Friday 16th February, we held a launch event at the FC Designer Collective shop for our first cohort of HOPE-FX participants.

HOPE-FX participants with Jeremy Corbyn and Lord Young

The HOPE-FX project gives young people, who are recovering from mental health conditions, the chance to produce their own unique, t-shirt designs and, with the FEL team, learn and see the entire process through from design sketch to high street.

The launch provided the perfect opportunity for the participants to showcase their work to their family, friends and local press. Supporting the initiative, MP’s Lord Young of Norwood Green and Jeremy Corbyn for Islington North were in attendance.

Jenny commented: “HOPE-FX has brought out the good in so many people – thank-you. The launch was all about the participants and it was their day to razzle and shine. They were spectacular and the smiles said it all. Family and loved ones were invited and a sense of pride and achievement was in abundance. The air was one of excitement!

“Thank-you to all the guests that came along. Zac Holloway, HOPE-FX was your idea be proud!”

A big thanks to the North London Mental Health Partnership.

If you would like to see HOPE-FX designs or other pieces by local Islington based designers please pop by the FC Designer Collective shop, 113-115 Fonthill Road, London N4 – opening times: Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 – 17:00
