Level 1 Group Take Next Steps Seminar and Factory Tour

On 7th October Fashion-Enter Ltd / FTA’s Head of Education, Lan Leeder, took the current cohort of Level 1 Stitching learners on an insightful factory tour. The session included a seminar from FEL CEO Jenny Holloway, providing ’Next Steps’ IAG (information, advice and guidance).

FEL is involved with both education and manufacturing, and is in the unique position to provide on-site experiences to embed deeper understanding and knowledge. The learners were shown each step of the manufacturing process including Health and Safety and Quality Control. They got to see orders being worked on and the variety of roles employed in the factory located in neighbouring Haringey.

During the seminar Jenny discussed ‘Next Step’ options that included further courses, work experience and employment.

The feedback from the session was fantastic and included:

“I have learned a lot in a short space of time.”

“I have learned about every section of manufacturing. I can’t wait to come back and learn more. Lan was very engaging, helpful and answered all the questions I had. Thank you Lan.”

“The factory seminar informed me about the different sections of the factory and how they run, available job opportunities and further courses.”

“Lan was amazing at delivering the course and very patient with answering questions.”

“I learnt a lot and have more information. I am happy to come back to do the pattern making course.”

“I enjoyed the visit and learnt more about the rag trade business.”
