11 Aug Genevieve Devine’s Residency at the Light House Soho
Congratulations to FC Designer Workspace resident Genevieve Devine on the success of her residency at The Light House in Soho.
On until 15th August, Genevieve is showcasing a new collection in the atmospheric Chinoiserie Showroom, bringing her distinctive world of salvage, craft, couture and slow fashion to one of Soho’s most exciting new fashion destinations.

The residency offers visitors the opportunity to discover Genevieve’s work up close, with private styling, made-to-measure and custom consultations alongside introducing her collection of garments and jewellery pieces.
Housed within a four-storey Georgian townhouse on Berwick Street, The Light House is the latest venture from Joe Corré, who previously co-founded Agent Provocateur. His vision is refreshingly human, a place where craftsmanship and independent design are given room to breathe, and where fashion is something to be discovered, discussed and experienced rather than simply consumed.
The Light House brings together a carefully curated and constantly rotating selection of designers and artisan makers, spanning fashion, accessories, latex, corsetry, leather, millinery, jewellery, tailoring and rare vintage.
Corré describes The Light House as somewhere for “curiosity and conversation” – a place where independent designers can be encountered in person, where vintage dealers can tell the stories behind garments, and where craftsmanship is treated as luxury in its own right.

Genevieve Devine creates garments and jewellery that sit intriguingly between fashion and objet d’art. Her work is rooted in the past lives of materials: found, salvaged and often unexpected elements are carefully dismantled, reimagined and transformed into new objects of fascination.
There is a sense of alchemy to the process. Rather than hiding a material’s history, Devine celebrates it, allowing traces of its previous life to become part of the character of something entirely new.
Her approach combines conceptual reimagining with painstaking handwork and fine detailing, teasing at the boundary between artisanal craft and radical provocation. The resulting pieces can feel at once romantic, strange, sensual and wonderfully familiar, as though they belong to another world, while remaining unmistakably contemporary.
Born and raised in the North East, between the rural countryside and Newcastle, Genevieve went on to graduate from Central Saint Martins with an MA in Fashion in 2021. Her eponymous label operates firmly within the spirit of slow fashion, favouring artisanal one-offs, bespoke pieces and small capsule jewellery offerings over the traditional rhythm of seasonal collections.
Her work exists instead as a thematic continuum: evolving, collecting references and allowing each new piece to have its own identity.
The Light House residency offers an opportunity to see that philosophy up close and the response so far has been fantastic, with Genevieve reporting a particularly warm reaction to both the new collection and the intimate experience of meeting clients in person.
