26 Sep Free Expert Advice on Quality Control

On Wednesday 25th September, from 10 – 11, FEL held its monthly free, online masterclass. Led by Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Garment Technologist Sonia Watson, the core topic focused on the importance of quality control throughout the garment manufacturing journey.

From the inspection of raw materials to final product checks, the purpose of these free 1-hour sessions is to support and advise start-up and small brands with every aspect of running a fashion business. The masterclass was available to FC Designer Workspace students and residents as well as external attendees. Sonia provided her expert knowledge on quality control procedures across the entire production process with the aim that attendees would:

• Understand the key stages of quality control in apparel manufacturing
• Learn how to implement effective quality control procedures
• Identify and rectifying common garment defects

Sonia provided insight into essential business practices that every clothing business needs to know as well as explaining about her role as a garment technologist and careers within the production side of the fashion industry. Attendees fed back with lots of positive comments on how helpful and interesting the session was.
