29 Aug Free Expert Advice on Costing and Pricing

On 28th August, FEL Founder, Jenny Holloway, held an informative 1-hour online masterclass on ‘Strategies for Accurate Costing and Pricing’. Jenny has decades of industry experience working with high street brands to small independent labels, and she was full of honest and informative advice, from how to keep costs down to going through every single expense with a fine-tooth comb.

The session attracted 25 participants that included FC Designer Workspace residents along with businesses and start-ups further afield. Jenny structured the masterclass with a PowerPoint presentation which could be forwarded to attendees after, she also gave advice and support on sampling, grading, small scale production and industry careers.

The session finished with some pertinent questions from attendees, including advice on creating customised sizing and pattern making to legal requirements for labelling upcycled garments. Despite a few hiccups with the internet the masterclass received positive feedback with several wanting contact details for specific business support.

The FEL team offers these free, 1-hour masterclasses on a monthly basis and the next session will be on Mastering Apparel Quality Control: Ensuring Excellence from Fabric to Final Product on Wednesday 25th September.
