28 May Fashion-Enter Ltd Secures Further 12 Months of Funding for Community Repair and Upcycling Workshops
Fashion-Enter Ltd is delighted to announce that its Community Repair and Upcycling Drop-In Workshops, delivered through FC Designer Workspace in partnership with Islington Council, have secured a further 12 months of funding.

Funded by Islington Council, the free workshops will continue to run twice monthly on Tuesdays at FC Designer Collective, 113–115 Fonthill Road, London, N4 3HH, supporting local residents with practical repair, alteration, and upcycling skills while helping to reduce textile waste and encourage more sustainable fashion habits.
The programme forms part of Islington Council’s wider environmental and sustainability strategy, focused on creating a greener, healthier, and more environmentally responsible borough. The council has also been recognised for its environmental efforts through a regional sustainability award programme.
Since launching in 2023, the workshops have grown significantly year-on-year, reflecting increasing community demand for accessible sustainability initiatives and practical creative skills. Across the three years of delivery, the programme has welcomed more than 1,800 registrations, supported hundreds of attendees from the local community, and helped repair or upcycle almost 1,000 garments and textile items that may otherwise have gone to waste.

The sessions are designed to make sustainable fashion accessible to all, offering participants the opportunity to learn practical sewing and repair techniques in a welcoming and supportive environment. Suitable for all skill levels, the workshops encourage residents to rethink consumption habits, extend the lifespan of clothing, and engage with circular fashion practices in a hands-on way.
Fashion-Enter Ltd CEO Jenny Holloway said: “We are incredibly proud to continue this partnership with Islington Council and provide accessible repair and upcycling opportunities for the local community. These workshops not only help reduce textile waste but also empower individuals with practical skills, confidence, and creativity. The continued growth of the programme demonstrates the increasing demand for sustainable solutions within fashion and everyday life.”
The workshops are hosted at the FC Designer Collective shop and form part of Fashion-Enter Ltd’s wider commitment to sustainability, education, ethical manufacturing, and community engagement.
