06 Oct Expert Advice: Building a Strong Foundation for Your Fashion Venture

On Wednesday 4th October, FEL’s CEO Jenny Holloway supported 15 SME’s that are up and coming designers at the FC Designer Workspace along with external attendees with a 1-hour, free Zoom masterclass on ‘Building a Strong Foundation for Your Fashion Venture.’

Jenny has over 30-years of industry experience and as an accomplished industry mentor she was able to go through each key point and adapt the information to questions and comments from attendees as they came in.

The session was packed full of information, advice and industry case studies, and was very well received. Attendees asked lots of questions ranging from working with UK suppliers to sourcing sustainable fabrics and there was also advice on careers and courses within the industry. The masterclass included a PowerPoint presentation of 44 slides, however due to time Jenny discussed the key points and the full presentation was emailed to all attendees at the end.

Jenny commented: “As a genuine social enterprise we host these seminars for free because we want to help designers and influencers to make their business a success. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes with garments and collections and the FEL team have years of real experience. 

“The session was great on Wednesday 4th October. The 44 page PowerPoint has been sent to the attendees and that’s packed with key information that’s required in industry. An invaluable toolkit for sure!  However, what was even better was the interaction that we had from the participants. Great questions, great probing of ideas and some genuine situations that we were happy to help and advise on.
