This hands-on, supportive and fun class will introduce you to essential sewing techniques, perfect for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills. You’ll learn to craft a luxurious, bespoke cushion using beautiful upcycled fabrics donated as end-of-life materials—making your creation both stylish and sustainable.

You will learn:

• Sewing Machine Basics: Learn how to set up and use a sewing machine with confidence.

• Cushion Assembly & Zip Insertion: Sew your cushion pieces together, master seam allowances, and learn how to insert a lapped zip.

• Finishing Touches: Add the finishing touches to your cushion and explore the option of starting a second project with any remaining fabric.

• Fabric Selection & Cutting: Get tips on choosing the right fabric and learn how to cut and measure your cushion material accurately.

This workshop will introduce participants to exciting opportunities in upcycling designer remnants from the interior sector.
