Design Exhibition: Celebrating Emerging Talent From  Capital City College Group x Fashion-Enter’s Islington Campus

Students from the UAL Level 3 Creative Practice: Art, Design & Communication – Fashion and Business Pathway (19+) are proudly showcasing their final design projects at Capital City College Group’s Holloway Road campus, following the successful completion of a 34-week immersive course rooted in the heart of North London’s creative industry.

Delivered across three-days per week, the course is taught in close collaboration with Fashion-Enter / Fashion Technology Academy, based at the FC Designer Workspace in Islington. This vibrant and professional setting— the location of Fashion-Enter’s affordable studio’s and learning hub—offers learners access to industry-standard facilities and mentoring from fashion experts. The Islington campus plays a central role in delivering the course’s core components: garment construction, pattern cutting, and the business of fashion.

The course empowers students to develop individual design concepts through extensive research and experimentation with 2D, 3D, and 4D creative practices. At the FC Designer Workspace, learners engage with the entire design-to-production process, exploring techniques such as fashion illustration, fabric manipulation, textile development, pattern experimentation, and technical garment assembly. Their work reflects the dynamic and hands-on learning environment that defines Fashion-Enter’s approach to industry preparation.

A private preview event for tutors, industry guests, family and friends was held on 1st May, where the students’ final collections were celebrated for their ambition and diversity.. The exhibition is now open to the public, running Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm until 15th May 2025, at Capital City College, 444 Camden Road, London.

This adult programme provides a powerful stepping stone for careers in fashion. Graduates typically progress to the UAL Level 4 Diploma in Garment Technology, move on to university-level study, or begin work in the sector through apprenticeships, internships, or entry-level roles in garment construction, design, and fashion business.

Course Tutor Lanya Iruong, alongside Fashion-Enter Lecturers Lan Leeder and John Herrera, have guided students through this demanding but rewarding journey. “The FC Designer Workspace has been instrumental in helping students experience the fashion industry up close,” says Iruong. “The standard of work on display is a testament to their creativity, resilience, and professionalism.”
