15 Dec December’s Repair & Upcycling Free Drop-In

On Tuesday 12th December 2023, Leyla and Gee hosted Fashion-Enter’s monthly Repair and Upcycling drop-in session in collaboration with Islington Council. 

The session attracted 10 local residents throughout the day, from 10am – 5pm, at the fully equipped FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road, N4. During this December’s drop-in attendees delved deep into their winter wardrobes and items brought along included: a woollen jumper that needed a hole repaired, a jacket that needed a new life and a pair of jeans to be transformed into a trendy maxi skirt.

The feedback from the session was great. One of the fabulous ladies that joined said: “I learnt more about Islington’s work on community projects… so inspiring!”

One attendee had recently purchased an overlocker and used the session to get a better understanding on how to thread the machine and practiced resizing some t-shirts and hoodies.
