22 Dec West Library Curtain Project Complete
As reported at the beginning of December the winner of the Community Curtain Making collaboration for the West Library, Manuela, had successfully amended and hung her purpose-designed curtains.

The project is now complete and here are the curtains, used to separate up the space for different events and activities.
FEL CEO Jenny Holloway said: “We (at the FC Designer Workspace) are delighted we could help on this programme with Public Works Group, it had a real community feel and now the end design will go on to serve the local area.”
Tom Dobson from Public Works Group added: “Public Works Group is committed to working in the community for the community. The West Library curtain project started as an idea to engage with local Islington residents so they could obtain new curtain making skills. This provided the chance to have a competitive programme whereby residents had to present their ideas and then a final design got selected that we would then commission and pay for.
“The project was facilitated by FEL who worked with us to ensure the smooth running of both the workshop and resulting curtains. This program has really reflected the power of working as one. Congratulations to Manuela for her functional and beautifully constructed curtains.”
