30 May Support Clothing Longevity at the Twice Monthly Drop In Repair and Upcycle Sessions
On the 27th May Fashion-Enter Ltd held its second free drop-in session of the month. Thanks to ongoing support from Islington Council, these Repair and Upcycle drop in’s are free to the general public to encourage clothing repair and longevity.

This session was quieter than usual with 10 individuals visiting the FC Designer Collective shop with their items of clothing to work on. Most that attended worked on upcycles, transforming old garments into new, wearable items. One individual that has attended before said that she ‘gets emotional with every upcycle’ and that she is ‘grateful for these free, drop-in’s’ where she can use industrial equipment and gain expert advice.

Items worked on ranged from dresses, skirts, t-shirts and trousers, with one individual working on a unique corset. Feedback ranged from good to excellent with the suggestion of more machines to improve the experience.

Expert stitching technician Leyla said: “We really enjoy these public drop in’s and helping people work on their repairs or personal projects. Everyone has items of clothing in the back of their wardrobe that could do with a new lease of life, it’s rewarding to teach people the basics so they can get the most out of their clothes.”
The next Repair and Upcycle Drop at the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road will take place Tuesday 10th June – please tap here to book your place.
