22 May Students From Beth Jacob Grammar Gain Factory Insight

On 17th May 2023, Fashion-Enter Ltd welcomed a group of secondary school students from the Beth Jacob Grammar School for Girls based in Hendon, North London.

The students were eager to learn how an ethical, SMETA approved UK apparel factory works. FEL Director Caroline Ash presented a seminar going through each stage of the garment life cycle and then took the group for a tour of the factory floor where they could see the entire process taking place in a live working environment. 

The tour included stitching, cutting and going in-depth into what each machine does, pressing and finishing, how long each operation takes and how to maintain quality. The pupils were amazed at how fast and efficient the machinists were.

Caroline commented: “On Wednesday we had Beth Jacob Grammar School in for the factory seminar. I was amazed at their knowledge, how spot-on their questions were and their enthusiasm for the subject. It was a very enjoyable session.”
