Last months Upcycling & Repair workshop was full of denim – with 15 pairs of trousers and shorts brought in to be worked on. This month, June, it was the turn of summer dresses!
One lady added a leg slit into her long, black summer dress. She’s looking to lower the neckline by using the skills she’s acquired at the workshop.
Another attendee brought a dress to be altered to perfectly fit her body. She was taught how to use an overlocker and by the end of the workshop she had learnt how to use an industrial machine for the first time.
No upcycling workshop would be complete without a denim alteration! This month we had an attendee learn how to take in her pair of jeans at the waist. After trying the jeans on and measuring the amount of fabric that needed to be cut, she got to work with a needle and thread.
