28 Jan Repair and Upcycle Drop-In 27th January

The Repair and Upcycle Drop-In at the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road, Finsbury Park continues to grow as a popular, hands-on sustainability initiative, supported by Islington Council. Held twice a month, the sessions provide a welcoming space for the local community to extend the life of their garments through practical repair and creative upcycling.

The latest session, held on Tuesday 27th January, attracted nine attendees, many of whom worked on multiple pieces. Projects included adding adjustable waistbands, re-hemming garments, and repairing and reworking denim jackets and jeans. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with all participants saying they would like to return and rating the session from good to excellent.

The next Free Repair and Upcycling Drop-In will take place on 10th February at the FC Designer Collective shop. Spaces are limited, so early sign-up is strongly recommended for anyone keen to take part and give their clothes a new lease of life.
