Raquel de Carvalho Speaks at Fox Williams’ Fashioning Accountability Panel

The Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) team were proud to see Raquel de Carvalho, one of our talented designers based at the FC Designer Workspace, take part in Fashioning Accountability: Legal and Practical Insights on Sustainability and Traceability, an event hosted by law firm Fox Williams at The Mills Fabrica in London.

The evening event on 4th November, brought together industry and legal experts to discuss how fashion businesses can approach sustainability and transparency within their supply chains. The panel featured Raquel de Carvalho, founder of her namesake knitwear label, and Imogen Lee-Savage from Margaret Howell, alongside Fox Williams’ legal specialists Stephen Sidkin, Partner and Chair of the Fashion Law Group, and Anisha Patel, Legal Director.

Stephen Sidkin explored the contractual implications of traceability and the emerging role of digital product passports (DPPs), while Anisha Patel examined corporate governance responsibilities and how brands can respond effectively when issues arise.

Raquel offered a valuable designer’s perspective, sharing her experiences in building a brand rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and transparency. She discussed the practical challenges of achieving full supply chain visibility as an independent designer and how she integrates ethical decision-making into every stage of production.

It was inspiring to hear Raquel highlight the importance of small, consistent actions, from sourcing responsibly to working with local makers, as meaningful contributions toward a more accountable fashion industry.

At FEL, we were delighted to see Raquel representing the creative community at the FC Designer Workspace, demonstrating how independent designers are helping shape the conversation around ethical and sustainable fashion.
