Opening the doors for work experience for local Riverside School

Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) was delighted to welcome Year 10 student Leona to both our Haringey and Islington sites for a five-day long, action packed work experience programme.

Leona is the daughter of one of FEL’s leading machinists Lindita and is a highly creative individual who wanted to understand how garments are made, what skills are required, how creative the job roles are and what you need to gain an apprenticeship.

During the five days Leona had the opportunity to visit every department that is part of the creation of a garment – there are over 132 stages to create a garment from an original thought to a finally delivered garment and we were  happy to discuss each of the stages.

For apprenticeships we went through all the different apprenticeships that we undertake as seen here: https://fcfta.com/apprenticeships/ and after much discussion Leona realised that she would like the Fashion Studio apprenticeship or the Product technologist apprenticeship. Both are on the new standards and are approximately 2-years long.

It was a pleasure to have such a positive proactive student on site. We all wish you the very best and thank-you for the video. Come back soon!
