04 Aug Islington Summer Special: 4 Day Stitching and Upcycling Course

The first of Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Summer Special short courses took place this week from 31st July to 3rd August. The fully booked class, based at the FC Designer Workspace, were introduced to stitching and upcycling with the aim of providing fundamental skills and confidence in creating and upcycling garments.

The group were shown and practised threading the machines; flatbed and overlocker, how to use them correctly, how to interpret and cut a pattern and how to make a baby t-shirt. Towards the end of the four-days individuals were encouraged to upcycle one of their own garments or to make a new item from deadstock fabric.

It was a busy four-days and the tutors adapted their support and advice in line with each individuals ability.
