FTA Tutors Participate in Refresher CPPD Session on Mental Health

On Thursday 4th September 2025, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) delivered an online refresher CPPD (Continuing Personal and Professional Development) session focused on mental health. The session was led by FEL’s CEO Jenny Holloway, Head of Education Lan Leeder, and Administrator Sanna Bux, and was attended by tutors from the FTA Islington, Haringey and Leicester campuses.

The training covered key areas around mental health awareness, providing up-to-date UK statistics, identifying common signs of mental health issues, and offering practical tools such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to help individuals manage their wellbeing more effectively.

Topics included:

  • Common mental health conditions and early warning signs
  • Understanding stress and its effects
  • The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
  • Regional statistics and support services in Islington, Haringey, and Leicester

Sanna Bux shared her experience of co-presenting, saying: “I learned a lot from this CPPD. Although I have a psychology degree and was aware of the impact mental health has on individuals, the session’s statistics were eye-opening. Hearing Jenny and Lan share personal stories and practical exercises really helped put things into perspective. I also had the chance to speak about mental health in Leicester, which was a big step for me as someone who has been diagnosed with anxiety and lacks confidence in public speaking. It was empowering to share something I’m familiar with, while also researching new resources available in Leicester. I’m proud of myself for taking part—it’s helped me feel one step closer to becoming more confident.”

Lan Leeder added: “It was great to come together and share our knowledge and understanding of mental health. Hearing different perspectives and learning about the available support in both London and Leicester was incredibly valuable.”

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. One tutor commented: “I found the training very engaging. It gave me a better understanding of how to support others in a work environment and made me feel more confident about caring for my colleagues and myself. Sanna, Jenny and Lan were amazing—it was a fantastic session.”
