Free Repair & Upcycling Drop-In Sessions Bring Community Together Through Creativity

The FC Designer Collective shop at 113–115 Fonthill Road, London N4 continues to buzz with creativity, thanks to its free bi-monthly Repair and Upcycle Drop-In sessions — proudly supported by Islington Council.

On a hot Tuesday, 12th August, 11 attendees joined the session to breathe new life into their clothing. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with all participants rating the experience as “good” or “excellent.” From simple alterations and repairs to more ambitious projects like transforming unworn garments into a ruffled skirt, the atmosphere was friendly, inclusive, and full of inspiration.

With guidance from skilled stitching technicians and access to sewing equipment, these sessions not only support sustainable fashion practices but also encourage positive mental wellbeing, creativity, and a sense of community.

“It’s a relaxed, welcoming space where anyone can drop in, learn something new, and feel good about giving their clothes a second life.”

The next drop in is scheduled for Tuesday, 19th AugustFC Designer Collective Shop, 113-115 Fonthill Road, London N4 (Finsbury Park tube station)
