Fashion-Enter Ltd Inspires the Next Generation at Islington World of Work Event

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting young adults in their career development, Fashion-Enter Ltd and its educational arm, the Fashion Technology Academy (FTA), once again took an active role in inspiring future talent. On Monday, June 23rd, Lan Leeder, Head of Education at Fashion-Enter Ltd, volunteered at the ‘Meet the Professionals’ workshop held at St. Aloysius’ College during the Islington World of Work event.

The workshop, aimed at Year 10 students, offered a unique opportunity to explore different career paths and gain real-world insights from professionals across various industries. Lan Leeder spoke to the students about her own career journey and provided a valuable overview of the diverse opportunities available after completing A-levels or BTECs, such as pursuing an apprenticeship or going to university.

Representing both the fashion industry and Fashion-Enter’s education mission, Lan highlighted the wide range of creative roles within the sector. She encouraged students to consider pathways they may not have encountered before—such as pattern cutting, garment technology, and merchandising.

“It was a pleasure to participate in this event, where I had the chance to engage with Year 10 students as they planned their next steps,” said Lan. “I discussed what it is like to work in the fashion industry and highlighted various career paths within the creative sector that they may not be familiar with, such as pattern cutting, garment technologist, and merchandising. The discussion was engaging, and the students asked many insightful questions.”

In addition to sharing her professional journey, Lan offered practical careers advice, including how to write a strong CV, the importance of gaining work experience, and how to develop skills that are essential in today’s job market.

This event reflects Fashion-Enter Ltd and FTA’s continued dedication to outreach and education, particularly in helping young people explore realistic and exciting career options. Through school visits, workshops, and apprenticeship programmes, the organisation regularly supports young adults as they navigate the transition from education into employment.
