10 Sep Celebrating Second Hand September: Fashion-Enter Ltd Champions Textile Longevity with Free Community Repair Sessions
As Second Hand September 2025 inspires consumers to rethink fast fashion and embrace pre-loved style, Fashion-Enter Ltd continues to lead the way in textile longevity and conscious consumption through its bi-monthly repair and upcycling drop-in sessions at the FC Designer Collective in Finsbury Park.

On Tuesday 9th September, the most recent session welcomed 12 local creatives and community members who brought along worn garments and second-hand finds to breathe new life into them. Attendees worked on a variety of clothing, including trousers, blouses, dresses, and tops, with one standout project featuring a pair of second-hand Levi’s reimagined with custom zip detailing – a great example of how upcycling can turn the old into something new and unique.
These hands-on sessions are not only a creative outlet but also offer practical, sustainable skills in garment repair, alteration, and customisation. Thanks to support from Islington Council, the drop-ins are completely free to attend, helping make circular fashion accessible to everyone.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, ranging from “good” to “excellent,” with many asking for more sessions and more machines—with one attendee saying, “Twice a month just isn’t enough!” The sessions are clearly striking a chord with the community, offering a real alternative to the throwaway culture that Second Hand September seeks to challenge.
The next repair and upcycling drop-in session is set for Tuesday 30th September. Places are limited and in high demand—register now via Eventbrite to secure your spot and be part of the growing movement towards sustainable, hands-on fashion.
