Successful Repair and Upcycle Drop-In 11th November at FC Designer Collective

The latest Repair and Upcycle Drop-In Workshop at FC Designer Collective on Fonthill Road, Islington, took place on Tuesday 11th November and welcomed 15 enthusiastic attendees for a day of creativity, learning, and community spirit.

Held every two weeks and supported by Islington Council, these free sessions encourage local residents to extend the life of their clothes through hands-on mending and upcycling techniques. The workshops are part of Fashion-Enter Ltd’s wider mission to promote sustainability, repair, and circular fashion.

Feedback from participants at the 11th November session rated from Good to Excellent, with attendees saying they would recommend the workshop to others and return again. For most, it was their first experience repairing or upcycling textiles, and the atmosphere was one of curiosity and collaboration.

Projects on the day included denim patchwork and pocket detailing, dress repairs, and trouser alterations, with attendees enjoying the chance to get creative while learning practical skills.

Leyla, FC Designer Collective’s skilled stitching technician, was on hand throughout to offer guidance and advice, ensuring everyone left with new confidence in their sewing abilities.

Due to the growing popularity of these sessions, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) is arranging for additional sewing machines to be relocated to the FC Designer Collective shop to better support future workshops.

The next Repair and Upcycle Drop-In Workshop will take place on Tuesday 25th November at FC Designer Collective, 113–115 Fonthill Road, London N4 3HH.
