29 Oct Repair and Upcycle Drop-In Brings Creativity and Sustainability to Life at FC Designer Collective
On Tuesday 28th October, the FC Designer Collective shop hosted its vibrant Repair and Upcycle session, supported by Islington Council. The free, drop-in workshop welcomed 18 enthusiastic attendees, all eager to breathe new life into their pre-loved garments.

The atmosphere was lively and collaborative as participants worked on a variety of projects, including customised shorts, dresses, a jumpsuit, trousers, coats, and jackets. With guidance and shared ideas, everyone had the opportunity to learn, experiment, and rediscover the value of repairing and personalising clothing rather than discarding it.

Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive with many attendees rating the session from ‘good’ to ‘excellent’, and everyone expressing interest in attending another repair event in the future. The workshop not only encouraged sustainable fashion practices but also fostered a sense of community and creativity among participants.
One attendee, a former FTA student, remarked that the session was “very useful and that she could practice the skills she had learnt at the FTA.” Her experience reflects the event’s success in connecting practical skill-building with real-world applications, inspiring both seasoned makers and beginners alike.
The Repair and Upcycle drop in’s continue to highlight Fashion-Enter Ltd’s commitment to sustainability, creativity, and local engagement, empowering individuals to take an active role in extending the life of their garments and reducing textile waste.
The next Repair and Upcycle drop in at the FC Designer Collective shop, 113 – 115 Fonthill Road, London N4, will take place Tuesday 11th November coinciding with Buy Nothing New Month. Places are free but please register via our eventbrite page.
