28 Aug Fantastic Turnout At the Islington Sustainability Fair
On Tuesday 26th August Manuela and Gintare set up a FC Designer Workspace stand at the Islington Sustainability Fair alongside other local businesses promoting sustainable services.

Manuela said: “Myself and Gintare attended the Islington Sustainability Fair, where we were invited to host a FC Designer Workspace stand focused on promoting the upcycling of clothing.

“The event was extremely well organised by the hosts, and it was inspiring to see the wide range of participating businesses, covering areas such as recycling, electronic repairs, natural fabric dyes, healthy eating, reducing carbon footprints, and clothing donations.
“Throughout the day we engaged with a variety of visitors from both the local community in Islington and across London. Many people approached us for practical support with repairing garments, including replacing missing buttons and patching denim. We also used this opportunity to provide informal education, demonstrating simple hand-stitching techniques that individuals could continue at home with just a needle and thread.

“The feedback and conversations we received were overwhelmingly positive. Attendees expressed real interest in sustainable fashion practices and appreciated the hands-on skills we shared. We felt honoured to represent FC Designer Workspace / FEL at the historic Islington Assembly Hall and to contribute to such an important community event.

“Overall, it was a highly rewarding experience that not only allowed us to promote the value of upcycling but also reinforced the message of the day: it all starts with a needle and thread.“
