15 May Community Repair and Upcycle Drop In on Fonthill Road
On Tuesday 13th May the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road welcomed 14 members of the public to their bi-monthly Repair and Upcycle Drop In. These sessions are all about encouraging repair and textile creativity to make clothes last that little bit longer. The shop is equipped with machines, additional fabrics and trims, along with experienced staff that can advise and support.

This session attracted a mix of projects, one individual brought in 6 items for repair ranging from pillow cases to bags. Others worked on the likes of dresses, jeans, shorts and tops, while a former Level 1 student brought a corset to work on.

Feedback from the day saw most tick ‘excellent’ with improvement suggestions of more staff and more machines. One participant said: “Thank you – this is just awesome.”

The Fashion-Enter Ltd team are able to provide these free, bi-monthly drop in sessions courtesy of support from Islington Council. We have more drop-in sessions coming up with the next date scheduled for Tuesday 27th May, please tap here to confirm your place.

Please note we provide full-day upcycling classes at our neighbouring, fully equipped, FC Designer Workspace to check up and coming courses and workshops tap here.
