12 Jun “I’d love this to be once a week!” – June edition of the Repair and Upcycle Drop-In

On Tuesday 11th June Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL), held its monthly edition of the Repair and Upcycle drop-in at the FC Designer Collective shop on Fonthill Road and the space was buzzing with creative energy. Throughout the day Maria and Leyla welcomed 13 participants wanting advice and support on a variety of repairs and upcycling projects.

The feedback from this session was brilliant and included:

“This event is unbelievably useful and lots of fun learning and developing skills. The organisers / helpers are very supportive, patient and kind hearted – a joy to work with.”

“The tutors were really knowledgeable and helpful and quickly worked out a way for me to achieve what I wanted. When I was stuck, or waiting for a machine they would check that I was OK. They were aware of all the participants and wanting them to get as much from the day as possible. I have made huge progress with my project (saving a coat) that I couldn’t find anyone else to tackle, and I have been learning skills as well as building confidence.”

“This workshop and space has a welcoming vibe. The teachers are very skilled and helpful in helping us to do any textile projects in mind. This is brilliant and gave me / people, a space / way to learn new sewing skills and make their textile projects into reality. One way to improve would be to have more machines and more chances of sewing myself. Nevertheless, it is very good!”

“I found this workshop extremely engaging and it made me feel that it would be great to attend future events to improve my technical ability in sewing.”
