Repair and Reuse is Fashion’s Way Forward

Exciting news for Fashion-Enter Ltd and the fashion industry. We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Makers Unite, a textile creative agency rooted in ethics and sustainability based in Amsterdam.

Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Haringey HQ will house the London branch of the United Repair Centre, here stock repair for major sustainable brands such as Patagonia will take place.

Recently, at the Blue Earth Summit it was highlighted that brands such as Rapha and Hiut Denim offer a free repair service on their products. Meanwhile in France a new national bonus scheme that promotes clothing / shoe repair by a certified mender or cobbler has just started. Finally it seems fashion and footwear is getting on board with repair. This is what the United Repair Centre will be all about and FEL are building up to an official launch on the 1st November.

FEL CEO Jenny Holloway said: “We are absolutely delighted! This new collaboration means that our amazing stitchers can be fully employed on creating new garments out of old! We have already undertaken trials and these proved to be very successful. After such a long dark tunnel there is now a great bright light on the horizon and it’s right for the industry and our glorious artisans too.”

The importance of repair and circularity in the fashion sector is gaining momentum and FEL is thrilled to be leading the way with the inclusion of the United Repair Centre and innovative technologies such as Style3D, Kornit Digital and Zund.
