MET University Collab Meeting

On 25th July Jenny, Leyla and Gee from Fashion-Enter Ltd met with John GabrielĀ and Rose Gulser from London Metropolitan University, to discuss opportunities and proactive ways that FC Designer Workspace / Collective can support the community by raising awareness about the courses and services on offer.

The meeting covered creative workshops for all ages, such as Islington residents and children designing tote bags or T-shirts and then FEL printing them and holding a small catwalk show in the FC Designer Collective shop.

FEL is also getting in touch with The Andover Estate Community Centre, where Jenny and Gee are planning to hold a taster workshop so that residents feel comfortable undertaking an upcycling class in the shop, which is located close to the estate. This is also aimed at parents over the summer holidays to offer tuition on upcycling, repairs and alterations on school uniforms to reduce waste and save money in the lead up to autumn /winter.

Leyla explained that she assisted Fashion-Enter Ltd with summer crafts classes a few years ago and would love to get more up and running over the summer holidays.

This meeting took place at the FC Designer Collective shop so that John and Rose could see the amazing space that FEL offers within Islington borough.
