05 Jun Meet the Workspace Resident: Gyouree Kim
The FC Designer Workspace on Durham Road is a creative hub that includes learning and hire facilities for fashion design and textiles alongside private and affordable studio spaces. This week we introduce FC Designer Workspace resident Gyouree Kim.

Korean born fashion designer Gyouree Kim delivers unique and exclusive collections made out of deadstock and off-cut materials. The brand aims to create detailed, intricately layered garments featuring corsetry elements and uses a mix of historical and contemporary aesthetics.
Gyouree Kim moved to the UK in 2018 with a background in womenswear design and pattern cutting. She continued with her studies at Central Saint Martins and developed her signature style and sustainable fashion methodologies. The collectable, exclusive and valuable nature of each Gyouree Kim design distances itself from fast fashion and the consumerist society of today.
In February 2023 Gyouree Kim presented her work during London Fashion Week on the Fashion Scout platform and has collaborated on projects in both London and Seoul.

Securing a studio space at the FC Designer Workspace she said: “Getting into this studio is one of the most exciting things that has happened this year. I’ve longed for a studio, truly so happy to find a great one to start my brand! I look forward to working on creating new collections in the space.”
The team at FC Designer Workspace offers further support and advice to residents such as Gyouree Kim. Jenny, Beth, Jo and Leah all combined to discuss on-going support for Studio designers on social media, press, trade exhibitions and events. This also includes events such as Magic in USA in September and reviewing collaborative stands.
