22 Sep Free Repair and Recycle Workshop For The Islington Community
On Friday 16th September the FC Designer Workspace once again opened its doors to support local residents on how to repair and upcycle their garments. This highly interactive day and was excellently received. The Repair and Upcycle workshop gives attendees the basic stitching skills to repair and rework clothes and textiles, making them last that little bit longer and keeping them out of landfill.
During this session we had attendees wanting to adjust fit, remove sleeves, repair hems and reconstruct items that have been redundant for some time. Run by the FCDW education team Ana commented: “We capped attendees at 15 but we had so many people who wanted to join this session for local residents. The feedback was excellent, and we are now running these events monthly.”
